3 Beach Bag Essentials

This summer, we have been traveling to the Jersey Shore quite a bit! The kids have been jumping waves, building sand castles, and running around with excitement, nonstop! Keeping watch over them and helping them build their castles doesn't allow me to relax under an umbrella with a good book like I use to. In fact, I'm usually sitting in the sun playing with them! To keep my skin healthy and my energy levels up, I turn to three Young Living products that are always in my beach bag!

Lavender essential oil: Lavender is the perfect essential oil for this busy mom to relax at the beach! Lavender is also used to keep the skin looking healthy! I apply Lavender (neat or diluted) on parts of my skin that feel like they are in direct contact with sun rays...shoulders, knees, nose. If I leave the beach feeling like some parts got a little too much sun, I continue to massage lavender to soothe the skin.

Lavaderm Cooling Mist: When feeling overheated by the sun, this cooling mist spray helps to calm the skin. It contains Lavender and aloe vera to rejuvenate overexposed skin. This spray is a hot summer item and can often fall out of stock because of it's popularity and affordable price point! When this happens, I will make my own spray bottle of water using a 4oz glass spray bottle, 20 drops of Lavender, and 3 drops of Peppermint. Spray liberally every 10-15 minutes, if needed.

Ningxia Red: This awesome antioxidant drink not only tastes refreshing at the beach, but it is easily portable in 2-oz carry pouches! I bring this to the beach for two reasons: (1) It rejuvenates my energy that is constantly being drained by the hot sun. (2) We know from nutritionists that a diet rich in antioxidants is good for the skin and can actually battle free radicals from the UV rays. I will drink one ounce of Ningxia Red every hour that I am basking in the sun to keep my skin healthy!
