NATURALLY INSPIRE CURIOSITY

Relationship Marketing is not a business scheme, but rather an educational vehicle to bring Young Living’s essential oils to every home.  Can you imagine how overwhelming it would be to stand in a store trying to figure out which oil you need?

Through relationship marketing, Young Living gives us the business opportunity to share our testimonies with our friends and family and get paid for it!  This helps promote the education of essential oils and Young Living’s expansive product line more effectively than any store could.

The +OILS team encourages you to never pass an opportunity where you can expose someone to Young Living.  These products are LIFE CHANGING and we never want our pride to prevent us from inviting others to take a look at the wellness, purpose, or opportunity offered by Young Living.  No matter who we bump into in life, how we may feel we are perceived, or how well we know them, learning the skills needed to effectively communicate with others is the upmost important.  How to Talk to Anyone by Leil Lowndes is a great book to read to improve communication skills.

People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care

Nevertheless, we find Relationship Marketing is most successful when we have an actual RELATIONSHIP with the person we are sharing with.  No matter if the person we are sharing with is a stranger, acquaintance, best friend, or distant family member, it is important that they know we are sharing because we CARE about them.  People are most comfortable ordering from distributors they know, like, and trust.  Here are some tips to help you develop positive relationships with your prospects:

Be a product of the product!

It’s important to show your excitement and love for essential oils!  But don’t just talk the talk.  You need to walk the walk! You can’t tell your friends about the importance of “green cleaning” and how much you LOVE Thieves Household Cleaner while later using an antibacterial wipe containing carcinogens!  Sharing Young Living will come natural when it is part of your lifestyle and your friends see you casually using the products throughout your routine.  Never leave your home without wearing an essential oil!

Ask questions.

The person who asks questions is in control of the conversation.  Ask questions to discover how you can best help your friend with a serving heart. Recommend products that you think could help them the most. Remember, one of Young Living’s best products is the business opportunity to add an additional stream of income!

Listen.

My mom always said “God gave you two ears and one mouth!”  And it is true!  Listen to the concerns, struggles, and successes of your friends.  You don’t need to bring up Young Living in every conversation with them.  Encourage them, cheer them on, and have compassion no matter where they are in life’s journey.  That’s what friends do!

Do not “firehose”.

We all do it in the beginning!  When we were introduced to Young Living, we were so excited by what we found in these products that we wanted everyone we knew to get all the information they needed!  Right?  Wrong.  Too much information overwhelms some of our friends and it turns them off.  Remember the previous two steps:  Ask questions and Listen.  Do that!  These products are so special. If you give them the exposure, they will speak for themselves!

Disassociate from the outcome.

When you introduce Young Living and essential oils to your friends, you are not a salesperson.  You are an educator!  If they don’t see the value in what you are teaching or they don’t think it is something they need in their life, that is OK.  Never pressure anyone to buy these products.  Never.  If they change their mind one day and become interested in learning more, they now know who to go to!  There are others who will value what you have to offer.  Do not be offended.  This is a fun business.  Don’t take it so seriously!

ROCK their world!

After you ask questions, listen, and they tell you they would like to purchase, your next job is to recommend products that will change their lives.  You don’t want them to think you scammed them.  They may or may not need the Premium Starter Kit.  Maybe they need the Premium Starter Kit plus something else.  Specifically mention the benefits of Essential Rewards during the signup process.  How better to improve their life than to receive these amazing products and try news ones each month?!  If you don’t know what products to recommend, consult with your sponsor, the Product Guide, or Contact Us

Say Thank You.

You don’t want to end your relationship with your friend after their first order!  Depending on your budget and what feels right in your heart, send a Thank You note, mail a care package with your favorite essential oil resources (make sure they know to check out plusoils.com), call them to see if they used their oils yet.  My favorite first question to ask a new member is, “What is your favorite oil so far?!”

Follow up.

Within the first month after they receive their first order, you want to make sure you follow up with your friend.  This may be a visit to their home to show them how to use the products they ordered, maybe they use the products every day and they need you to show them how to order through Essential Rewards, or maybe their products didn’t help them and they need your ideas on how to use them more consistently to see the impact or suggest something else.  Make sure to plug them into the +OILS community, tell them about Young Living’s events, Grand Convention, and other opportunities to learn more!

Reconnecting.

This is Relationship Marketing.  You have been working so far to build this relationship with your friend.  Don’t let it fizzle out!  It’s not how much you know, it’s about how much you CARE.  Continue to reconnect, be interested in their lives outside of Young Living, call to say hi, send them a hand written note expressing how much you value their friendship, or a card with Slique Tea for their birthday.  Texting and social media are not effective ways to reconnect.  If they are placing multiple orders, make sure they know the benefits of Essential Rewards.  If they haven’t ordered in a year, make sure they know to place a 50PV order to maintain their membership.

THE POWER OF DUPLICATION

The Young Living business opportunity does not rely on how good of a salesperson you are.  This is a business that relies on how well you can lead a team and if you can grow your teammates into effective leaders.  We aren’t in the business of selling starter kits or selling tiny bottles of essential oils.  We are in the business of ROCKIN’ someone’s world!  And then have them ROCK someone else’s world…  and let that ripple effect happen so more lives can be impacted than if you were to do this on your own.  Don’t count how many starter kits you sold this month, or how many people joined Essential Rewards.  To see your organization take off, you need to count how many leaders are on your team.  How many people have signed someone up?  Of course, this takes time and in the beginning this won’t happen.  There is a process.  They need to first fall in love with the product, maybe they aren’t ready to pursue the business yet, but they are interested in Essential Rewards.  But ultimately, we want to see a “Circle of Success”, which Monique McClean so eloquently wrote in her book!

This is my greatest commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
